Live Audio Wrestling sent out the following:

A.J. Styles was a guest this past week on The LAW: Live Audio Wrestling chatting about this past summer’s G-1 Climax, how his neck is, Ring of Honor and much more.

Below are excerpts from the chat:

WORKING THE G-1: It’s awesome, I just went out there in the G-1 tournament and just tried to have great matches. I knew I had great match ups because they were matches that no one had ever seen before and it turns out I had some of the best matches of my career there. It speaks volumes to leave one company and go to the next and do well.

HIGH EXPECTATION LEVEL FOR THE TOURNAMENT: I don’t know if I felt pressure, I felt it was an opportunity to shine more than anything because of these new match ups and guys I’ve seen wrestle before and I knew I could have great matches with. So it was almost exciting more than stress related for me and at this point in my career I don’t get too stressed out when it comes to wrestling, I’m pretty confident I can go out there and have a great match with anyone.

MATCH OF THE YEAR CONTENDER WTH MINORU SUZUKI: I thought it was just a normal match, I came to the back and everyone said “great match, great match” and then the next day Twitter was blowing up and everyone was talking about how great the match was and even Suzuki was saying that American people were tweeting him and telling him how great the match was and even he was a little shocked by it. It was cool to get the response from that match and to us it was just another match.

THE STATUS OF HIS NECK: I would love to tell you it was a million bucks but at some point, it’s worrying me. I’m feeling pretty good right now and getting to the chiropractor and seeing what was going on. To be perfectly honest, I think I have to get adjusted and get adjusted a lot more, you have to take care of yourself and I took some time off, I went to the chiropractor and massage, that’s stuff you have to do as a professional wrestler to keep going.

THE BULLET CLUB: To see it explode the way that it has, it’s unbelievable. Literally at PWG, at least every other person had a Bullet Club t-shirt on and it doesn’t matter where I go, people were chanting “Bullet Club” and parts of the planet where I didn’t think they could watch NJPW, they were wearing Bullet Club t-shirts. That says something. New Japan is doing something right and it’s working and honestly, if we’re talking about the big promotions – New Japan, TNA, WWE – New Japan is the only one that made money this year and they made a lot of it.
