The landscape of the WWE Network, as well as the European wrestling scene as a whole is expected to change this year as all signs are that the Insane Championship Wrestling promotion out of Scotland will soon debut as programming on the WWE Network and that all other promotions could follow, according to a report attributed to PWInsider.com.

The report notes that depending on who is talking, the deal for Insane Championship Wrestling is believed to be between two to three years and that PROGRESS Wrestling in the United Kingdom and potentially other promotions will soon follow and that the move is one that WWE have been discussing internally since 2016 with the idea of adding independent wrestling material to a new tier on the WWE Network for a higher price point with discussions internally within the company about everything from licensing independent wrestling content from existing television shows to paying promotions to create content and that feedback and viewing numbers for the recent WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament were going to be a strong factor for the company in determining how they moved forward with that plan and that an announcement is said to be coming soon.

The report further notes that the talk was that WWE had all but completed a deal with Insane Championship Wrestling and that the belief is that its weekly “Fight Club” series will migrate from the Fite TV App to the WWE Network and air via Video On Demand with disclaimers and a parental warning on the content, similar to how WWE Attitude Era material and ECW material are featured on the Network, however it is unknown as to whether ICW’s big events, such as the annual Fear And Loathing event will come to the WWE Network as well.
