Following his loss to former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion and K1 Grand Prix Winner, Alistair Overeem at tonight’s UFC 141 event in Las Vegas, Nevada, former WWE Champion and UFC Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar got on the microphone and noted that he would be retiring from UFC action effective immediately.

Lesnar told UFC commentator and Fear Factor host, Joe Rogan, that he promised his kids and his wife, former WWE Diva, Rena “Sable” Lesnar that if he lost tonight’s fight to Overeem he would officially retire and thanked Dana White for allowing him to join the UFC, as well as the Fertitta brothers for his time with the promotion.

While many people will be quick to speculate that Lesnar will jump at the offer to take up a part-time role with the WWE, allowing him to compete at WrestleMania 28 and receive a big Mania payday, as well as the royalties from future WWE games, coming off his appearance in WWE and THQ’s WWE ’12 videogame, there are no plans for a return, however it should be noted that the company have been pursuing Lesnar for quite sometime to make a Mania appearance.
