Season 14’s adventures take CHIKARA down to the Mid-Atlantic this month!
On Sunday, the 26th, we’re bringing the fun-filled lucha superparty to Richmond, VA’s Greater Richmond Convention Center for “Moonraker!” We’re super excited for our first visit to Virginia, the land of lovers, and now, luchadores! We can’t wait to see the Virginia regiment of the CHIKARMY!
In the main event, the CHIKARA Grand Champion will fight The Flood’s second-in-command, when Icarus makes his second title defense against Jimmy Jacobs! Jacobs wants to win the title and wipe out CHIKARA once and for all, but Icarus is determined to ride the momentum CHIKARA gained at King of Trios and finish this war by finally turning the tide against The Flood!
CHIKARA favorites The Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) suffered a heart-breaking defeat courtesy of The Wrecking Crew (Jaka & Oleg the Usurper) during the Tag Team Gauntlet at King of Trios! In Richmond, The Portal will team up with Wrestling is Fun!’s newest tag team, N_R_G (Race “The Generator” Jaxon & Hype Rockwell,) to take on four members of The Wrecking Crew with the goal of getting some revenge!
At King of Trios, Eddie Kingston’s winding path back to the Grand Championship took another turn when he turned his back on Jimmy Jacobs and left The Flood! In retaliation, a furious Jacobs’ will send his trusted acolyte Volgar to teach “The Mad King” a lesson in loyalty, but he should be wary, as Kingston will charge into battle armed with a renewed sense of purpose and the devastating “Backfist to the Future!”
The Colony (Fire Ant, Silver Ant, & Worker Ant) proved once and for all who the best ants are at during Night One of Trios when they defeated Colony: Xtreme Force in the First Round; while The Bloc Party (Mr. Azerbaijan, Prakash Sabar, & The Proletariat Boar of Moldova) lost to Team UK. Momentarily disgraced, The Bloc Party wants to prove they are the still the pride of Eastern Europe by defeating the accomplished Colony at “Moonraker!”
And in a match that guarantees to live up to its name, Atomico Ridiculo, friends and tag team partners will collide when one half of the Campeones de Parajas Dasher Hatfield, Smooth Sailin’ Ashley Remington, El Hijo del Ice Cream, and Scott “Jagged” Parker wrestle their compadres, a team consisting of the other half of the Campeones Mr. Touchdown Mark Angelosetti, Archibald Peck, Ice Cream, Jr., and “Big Magic” Shane Matthews!
An old rivalry will be renewed when The Spectral Envoy (UltraMantis Black, Hallowicked, & Frightmare) battles Die Brüderschaft des Kreuzes (Jakob Hammermeier, Nøkken, & ???) in trios action. At King of Trios, Jakob shocked CHIKARA by revealing he was the fake, Cosby sweater-wearing Dr. Cube and owner of the real and very dangerous Eye of Tyr. Can The Envoy stop the resurrected BDK with a vengeful Hammermeier at the helm? Or will a crazed Jakob use the Eye to control another monster in the hopes of finally crushing The Envoy?
In a rematch from Night One of this year’s Young Lion’s Cup tournament, the Colony: Extreme Force’s Missile Assault Ant will wrestle the current Rey de Voladores, Shynron! Last Saturday, Missile Assault moved to the YLC finals by pinning Shynron in the 6-man qualifier. Now, Shynron is looking to even the score and will use every move he knows, including a few new ones he’s created, to do it!
