In an interview with WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross for his Ross Report podcast, Chris Jericho noted that he is working with New Japan Pro Wrestling to have the Wrestle Kingdom 12 pay-per-view event available through traditional pay-per-view means so that those without access to New Japan World would be able to view the event.

Jericho was asked if Vince McMahon knew about his deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling before it was publicly announced, but noted that he would not go into any specifics on the matter. Jericho mentioned that he would not do anything that would jeopardize his relationship with Vince McMahon before stating that if Vince McMahon knew what an effect such a match could have on his own business, then he should not have a problem with it.

Meanwhile, during the interview, Jim Ross noted that he renewed his deal with AXS TV for another year, meaning that he will be calling the action when the show is announced as airing on AXS TV.
