New Japan Pro Wrestling superstar Kenny Omega was recently interviewed by Tokyo Sports about the announcement that he will face Chris Jericho on January 4th, 2018 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan as part of the company’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 pay-per-view and whether Omega is potentially WWE-bound.

The report claimed that although Chris Jericho is not a full-time WWE talent, he still has a deal with the company and that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon gave his permission for Jericho to work the event on January 4th, which has increased the speculation regarding Kenny Omega’s future.

In regards to whether his match with Chris Jericho will lead to him joining WWE shortly thereafter, Omega denied the possibility that it will lead to him joining WWE, noting that he is part of the New Japan Pro Wrestling roster and that it is a wonderful company to work for. Omega said that there is no doubt that the WWE have a keen interest in him, given the success of others that have joined from New Japan Pro Wrestling and said that he has not had contact from them.
