Former WWE superstar turned UFC fighter CM Punk was a recent guest on Inside MMA and was asked if Vince McMahon has reached out to him since his WWE departure, to which Punk laughed off and mentioned that Vince is currently bankrolling a lawsuit against him.

For those that may be unfamiliar with the story, the lawsuit that CM Punk is referring to is the lawsuit filed back in February 2015 by WWE’s Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann for defamation over comments made on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast when Punk done an interview in November 2014.

Speaking of Cabana and Punk, according to MMA insider Front Row Brian, who has tons of contacts in both the professional wrestling scene and the MMA world, their long friendship is apparently done as they no longer follow each other on Twitter, which is apparently down to CM Punk going nuts after he learned that Colt Cabana attended a Monday Night RAW taping, went backstage and took photos, with Punk believing that Cabana being backstage at RAW hurts his defense against WWE physician Dr. Amann as mentioned above.

Former WWE superstar Hornswoggle also noted during a recent shoot interview with Kayfabe Commentaries that his friendship with CM Punk ended after Punk got upset when Hornswoggle asked him for a phone number of a mutual friend, with Punk taking that as Hornswoggle using his friendship to get a phone number out of him, which caused their friendship to end.

For those wondering, the Cabana/Punk vs. Dr. Amann case is currently ongoing and the latest on the case was that there was a trial call date set for May 21st, 2018.
