WWE superstar John Cena is featured in an interview with BostonHerald.com, where he notes that he will be debuting a new pink color scheme in recognition of breast cancer awareness at tonight’s WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view event in Boston, MA tonight.
Cena’s new gear features a pink “Rise Above Cancer” hat and a black t-shirt with a “Rise Above Cancer” logo in pink, while Cena’s sweatbands will also be in pink. The entrance attire/ring gear will be worn by Cena from now until the end of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and is part of the WWE teaming with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.
Speaking in the interview, Triple H noted that John Cena and the company have a large female fan base, so it is important for the WWE to support the people who have supported them for so long. Cena noted that one of the reasons that he really wanted to do something with Susan G. Komen is because of his brother who is battling brain cancer and that early detection saved his brother’s life.
