Jersey All Pro Wrestling sent out note that Apollo Santiago, better known to Jersey All Pro Wrestling fans as Tony Lazaro and Yeyo during his days as part of the Special K stable in Ring of Honor, passed away last night after a seizure.

Lazaro who was trained by Magic and Skinhead/Crazy Ivan held one championship during his career, the JAPW Student Championship from 2001 until 2002. He left wrestling overall in 2004 after his stint with Ring Of Honor to join the Army.

Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s Deranged posted the following online: “I lost a brother last night.. Tony played a big role in the person i am today. I wish i had another chance to remind him. He woulda threw his hands up for ANY of his brothers under any circumstances, blood or not. A REAL friend. A REAL soldier. Literally, he left ROH and gave up his opportunity there to serve his country in Iraq and became a bigger man than all of us. No one can ever question his heart or his humility towards other people. Thank you, Tony, for taking me to Charity Hall in Bayonne to train for that very first time. That day put me on the path that led me here. You literally re-directed my life. Thanks for bein’ a funny a** mofo never letting anyone be too serious for more than 3 seconds, thanks for calling me out on being a p***y when i was truly acting like one, and most of all for being a true ride or die & for always treating me more like a brother than a friend.. I love you Apollo!! (He HATED when people called him that lol- #theratpack #h-effect #specialk 4 life .. until God calls me too…”

Corvis Fear of Jersey All Pro Wrestling shared the following: “I don’t know if this is the proper outlet for how I’m feeling right now, but I need let those that knew him & cared about him know. One of my best friends & brothers in wrestling Apollo Santiago (Tony Lazaro) passed away last night after a Seizure that was just too much for his body to handle. I met Tony on May 20th, 2001, the day we both stepped into a ring for the first time @ JAPW to follow our dream on becoming Pro Wrestlers. Tony was one of the most naturally gifted individuals I have ever known climbing the ranks in JAPW & debuting in ROH in record time. I know that if not for he & Suba, I would not be the wrestler & person I am today. He left wrestling to join the armed forces, fighting for our country overseas, before being discharged & settling down in Colorado & having a beautiful daughter, Nevaeh. I am in shock right now, because as I’ve experience death in the wrestling business, this is the first time I’m losing someone so close to my heart. Tony, you will always be more of a brother than a friend, and I know you’re in heaven watching over us. I Love You.”
