Former WWE music composer Jim Johnston was a recent guest on the Prime Time With Sean Mooney podcast and opened up on his departure from the company, noting that things started to change for him around three or four years ago, due to politics behind the scenes, but did not provide additional detail, other than noting that he trusted friends, who turned out not to be friends.

Johnston noted that his departure/firing was done by Vince McMahon during a brief phone conversation and said that he thinks there were better ways to end it, where everyone could have walked away with a much better feeling. Johnston said that after 32 years for the WWE, it felt like a lost opportunity to him and he did not really understand it.
