Triple H held his pre-WWE NXT Takeover: Phoenix conference call earlier today. Adam Hopkins opened the call and welcomed everyone, before introducing Triple H. Triple H discussed how it has been a busy few weeks for the NXT brand, as they just did a Takeover event in the United Kingdom and said that the talent over there lit the fire and they will just pour gas on it and said that the show was very successful and was trending very well online against the NFL. Triple H went over the card for Phoenix and said that it should be an amazing show, before stating that he is now turning things over to his favorite part of the call, the question and answer session.

The first caller asked about Velveteen Dream’s tweet, where he said that he will not appear again until he gets paid what he is worth. HHH said that he has not talked to Dream about it, but said that Dream is very talented and great at creating some buzz. The same caller asked if there is a line that talent should not cross on social media. HHH said that it is a constant battle to see where the line is and said that it is not about giving things away. HHH said that people watch a magic show and know that it is magic, but they do not need to know how they do the tricks and it’s the same with what he means. HHH said that the idea is to say the right thing without offending anyone.

The next caller asked why the Hall of Fame and Takeover events changed dates. HHH said that it was about the fans and not making them choose what they want to go see. The same caller asked about the formation of All Elite Wrestling and whether that changes anything with NXT. HHH said that it is clearly something that he will keep his eye on and that they will do what they feel is right for the business. HHH said that as content providers, they compete against everything, so you watch everything and monitor it and will continue to do what is best for the WWE.

The next caller asked about hierarchy and staff for WWE NXT UK and how they learned from the first Performance Center. HHH said that there is a long list of what they learned from the first one and that the staffing is a fluid process. HHH said that they are sending different people in and pulling others out and said that the UK Center is smaller than the US version and they don’t need as many things there, such as language training. HHH said that they have all of the basics of training and health and wellness set up now and sees the differences being made already, noting that it is a work in progres that is heading in the right direction that will continue to morph and grow. The same caller asked about the status of Lars Sullivan with the company. HHH said that there is always some speculation and stories all the time concerning talent. HHH said that Lars is in a good place and nothing has really changed, noting that everyone will know when you see it, but that nothing has changed.

The next caller asked about the development of War Raiders and Matt Riddle, as well as other talent insights. HHH said that the War Raiders have been impressive and now are getting a title shot and that is a statement as to how well they have done. HHH said that Matt Riddle has an inate charisma and will continue to grow, while someone like Bianca Belair has really come on. HHH mentioned how Shayna Baszler was super green, but is now just one of the rocks of the women’s division. HHH said that the growth of everyone is phenomenal and when they go from here, they are groomed to have all the success that they need to have and that there are a lot of talent waiting to come up behind them, such as Punishment Martinez. The same caller asked whether NXT UK will be involved during WrestleMania week. HHH said that they have ideas and they will definitely be involved at the show. HHH discussed the tournament at Royal Rumble AXXESS this weekend and that he is excited for that and said that all of that breeds excitement and makes for excitement as all of the brands will be a part of what they do, especially during WrestleMania week.

The next caller asked HHH how his rehab is going. HHH said that he just got cleared to train again and rehab is over, so he is excited. HHH said that he is sore right now from training which started a week ago. The same caller asked about NXT UK Takeovers and what the right number is. HHH said that it is a matter of routing and seeing where everything fits. HHH said that is better to do too few shows than too many and that he likes people wanting more. HHH said that they will do over 500 total events as a company and that is a giant puzzle and they are figuring all that out. HHH said that at this time, he does not know what the number will be, but thinks that he can get it to what NXT does in the US, but that it is just a matter of how long it will take and then, they will take it as it comes and go from there. The same caller asked about the plans for more WWE Performance Center rollouts. HHH said that he expects a few more to be announced in the next couple of years, noting that it was fairly easy to set up in London, but that in other places, it will be harder.

The next caller discussed Andrade’s recent matches with Rey Mysterio and how HHH feels about seeing Andrade do well at the next level. HHH said that he is thrilled and always felt that Andrade was an excellent talent and had a bit of a barrier with the language at first, but now, he is excelling. HHH said that Andrade is confident, as a worker and as a person, but said that nothing is guaranteed at the next level and that Andrade has made the most of all of his opportunities and has a great future.

The next caller asked about The Rock’s daughter Simone training at the Performance Center. HHH said that if you want to know about her, the best person to ask is The Rock himself. HHH said that he knows that she has the love of the business and she caught it from her Dad. HHH said that if you asked The Rock, he thinks he would say how much he loves the business and that she caught it, plus her grandmother Ata loves it too and knows that The Rock would be happy to have her in the WWE and expects that we will see more of her. The same caller asked about more explosive moves and is there a line with them. HHH said that for him, it all comes down to safety and whether the moves can be done the right way. HHH said that if they feel that there is a risk, it can’t be done safely and it won’t be done, stating that sometimes they have to protect the talent from themselves since they are thoroughbreds.

The next caller asked if talent would be called up after WrestleMania. HHH said that it is a work in progress and if they are needed, then it will happen, but if they’re not needed, then they won’t be and it depends on what is best for the product. The same caller asked if there are any plans on getting NXT on a TV Network. HHH said that right now, they are focusing on moving SmackDown Live to FOX and said that they are very excited about that move and focused on that.

The last caller asked about the call-up process and whether NXT UK wrestlers can be called straight up or will they go to NXT US first. HHH said that it would depend on the talent and where they are in the process and said that anyone from anywhere can be called up at any time and said that they need to make sure that they have the tools and are prepared for it when it happens. HHH said that when you watch the talent on television, you don’t always see the work that they still need to do in other areas and that they want them prepared for success in the best way possible. The same caller asked about India and if there was a specific place in India where they would want to have a Performance Center. HHH said that they are going through that now to see what location works best and they have partners there to consider and want to be in the place that is best connected all around and that current and new deals will shape the thinking as to where it will be the best to go.
