Triple H held a conference call earlier this morning to discuss next Saturday’s WWE NXT Takeover: Orlando live special. Adam Hopkins opened the call and welcomed everyone, before passing things over to Triple H who said that it is an exciting time with the push to WrestleMania and that he thinks this year’s WrestleMania will be great, with a lot of long-term stories playing out in a big way. Triple H said that when you talk about WrestleMania week and what it has become, from AXXESS to WrestleMania to WWE NXT to the WWE Hall of Fame to WWE RAW to WWE SmackDown Live and WWE NXT taping, 130,000 tickets have been sold to the people and he doesn’t know any other company that can do that.

Triple H then said that before he goes any further, he wanted to talk about the tragic passing of Jan Ross and said that Jim Ross has always been a part of the WWE family and that nothing can prepare someone for this and that the WWE sends their thoughts and prayers to Jim and his family. Triple H then put over the WWE NXT Takeover card and said that he expects the show to be great and noted that WWE NXT, 205 Live and UK Tournament stars among others will be working at AXXESS during WrestleMania week. Triple H then noted that it was time for his favorite part of these calls, the Q&A session.

The first caller brought up how during the last call, Triple H said that he was not happy where WWE NXT was and asked if that changed. Triple H said that he will never be happy with the product, as he always wants it to be better, but that the unhappiness had nothing to do with the talent and that it has to do with his end, the booking, the production and more. Triple H said that the WWE Performance Center is there to create stars and as people move up to the main roster, it strips WWE NXT. Triple H said that they lost almost the entire NXT Women’s Division during the WWE Draft, so he noted that he was unhappy with where the company had positioned the brand behind the scenes and said that they got caught by it all, but he is much happier where they are now and that they are on the path to get it to where he wants it to be.

The same caller asked if the UK talents at AXXESS will be recorded for the upcoming UK show. Triple H said that there will indeed be cameras there to capture content, but that they are not looking to tape actual shows at AXXESS. Triple H said that they have some stellar matches planned for AXXESS and said that the Wednesday following WrestleMania 33, they will record WWE NXT television.

The next caller asked about the development of younger talent, such as Patrick Clark, to which Triple H said that when you talk about young talent, his mind goes to Patrick Clark and said that the WWE Performance Center is about taking people like Patrick Clark, with a ton of potential and helping them to reach it and said that when you have young talents, it’s a process to get them to where they need to be to become an NXT and then a WWE star and mentioned how The Authors of Pain are a great example of young guys coming in, learning and growing and said that you take the talents on the journey in their career in steps.

The same caller asked if Triple H ever foresees branching out the WWE Performance Center to take them to places like the United Kingdom and Canada. Triple H said that he is always thinking about that kind of growth and that they have to figure out the best placed to do it and said that right now, the WWE Performance Center is at 100 people and they are maxed out and that he wants to perfect the system and make it grow, but it has to be done the right way. Triple H said that the growth is something that they have learned as they have grown, such as having 10 Chinese wrestlers in the WWE Performance Center and things as simple as figuring out how to speak with someone that speaks Mandarin Chinese and said that the growth is something that they look at all along.

The next caller asked when will WWE NXT come to his home country of Spain. Triple H said that he would love it and that they look at it logistically as to where they should go and said that fans in Spain should take to social media and request that NXT comes to their country and said that he loves Spain and would love to return there with WWE NXT.

The same caller then asked about this being WWE NXT’s version of WrestleMania. Triple H talked about the growth of NXT in recent years, from being just a show in San Jose in a few years to now, where it is the NXT of WrestleMania and said that NXT Takeover: Orlando will be the most-watched NXT show and it is a great opportunity for them to make a name for themselves to the world.

The next caller asked about the UK tapings and if it is looked at as WWE Network content or whether they would like to get on television in those markets. Triple H said that it is an evolving process and that it will all depend on the market as to whether they can do it and other issues such as, do they have good broadband there and more, but said that it is an exciting time and noted that the world is a smaller, yet bigger place due to the internet and that while they can reach everywhere, they can also promote locally and specifically.

The same caller asked about the status of names such as Kyle O’Reilly joining WWE. Triple H said that without looking specifically at it, he could not say off of the top of his head and that he looks at all talent as just that, talent. Triple H said that Kyle O’Reilly is amazing and that he has no doubts that he will end up in the WWE, but that it just comes down to when it makes sense for both sides to work together.

The next caller asked about Bobby Roode and what he has brought to WWE NXT. Triple H said that anyone that comes in has a learning curve since WWE does things so much differently than other places and said that Roode brought so much to the table, but that he had some learning to do and that he is doing it. Triple H said that Roode has a great level of comfort and does not get rattled and it sets a great example for the younger talent in WWE NXT and said that growth is helped by who is around you and that guys like Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura set examples for guys, whether they know it or not.

The same caller asked what does being part of WrestleMania personally mean for him. Triple H said that it means that the 3 months before the show are just ridiculously busy for him and that when he steps out on that stage at WrestleMania, there is nothing like it in the world and that the passion level at WrestleMania, both good and bad, is just awesome and that to step out there is amazing. Triple H said that when he tore his quad, he still had to stick his head outside of the curtain, because he had to feel the WrestleMania passion and said that it is an addiction and noted that the weekend starts with the WWE Hall of Fame and said that he is looking forward to that as the people getting inducted get to stand in front of the fans and get acknowledged for their great careers and that it is amazing for them and a great weekend.

The next and final caller asked about talents such as Kassius Ohno leaving WWE NXT and coming back later. Triple H said that sometimes, talent think that they are playing for the Jets and that NXT is the Patriots and that he needs the talent to play on their playbook and be on the NXT team and when talents can not do that, they can leave and when they change their minds, they can talk and come back, but when they leave, a lot of the time they realize what NXT was trying to tell them to do was the right thing to do and that they learn and come back and said that down the road, he can see talents going from RAW to SmackDown Live to NXT to the United Kingdom and more and said that they are just scratching the surface of what the overall company is and he sees it continuing to evolve in the future and that all of the talents that are out there are or could be a part of that.

The same caller asked if there has been any update on WWE NXT television airing live more often. Triple H said that there have been conversations, but it all comes down to costs and production bandwidth and that right now, with RAW and SmackDown Live, making WWE NXT live would not leave him with much time for the rest of his duties, but he is constantly looking at things and that Vince McMahon always says to look at today like it is your first day on the job and that always ask if they are doing things the right way.

Triple H thanked everyone for their time and said that if anyone sees him in Orlando during WrestleMania week, do not hesitate to stop him and say hello.
