Women Superstars Uncensored returned to iPPV last night on GFL.tv from the NYWC Sportatorium in Deer Park, New York with their 5th Anniversary iPPV headlined by Mercedes Martinez, undefeated in 3 years as WSU Champion defending her title against WSU Spirit Champion, Jessicka Havok, who herself has an undefeated streak running over 2 years in the company.
The show opened with a video package highlighting the past 5 years, before the opening match got underway.
J-Cup Qualifier Match – Athena vs. Leva Bates
A rematch from last year’s show opens up WSU’s 5th Anniversary iPPV as Athena looks for revenge from her loss, Bates is out in awesome Jedi gear and for a pop from the crowd, a lightsaber! Leva goes to shake hands at the start of the match, however Athena refuses with the commentator stating that Leva is attempting some kind of Jedi mind trick (that made me laugh). The action gets underway with Bates attempting a few quick rollups followed by a few hurricanranas, before the two lock up circling the ring looking for a clear advantage. Bates attempts a knuckle lock however Athena counters it and kicks Bates in the stomach with both women working on each other’s arms. Athena applies an anklelock like submission, however Bates counters for a 2 count. Athena works down on Bates, however Bates counters again and locks in a submission of her own wrenching back on Athena’s neck, who eventually crawls to the ropes to break free. Leva Bates becomes enraged and throws Athena to the corner and lays in chops, however that’s reversed and Athena gets in a few chops of her own, which ends up getting reversed again with Bates hitting a neckbreaker for a 2 count. Both women get to their feet and Athena hits a fisherman’s suplex for a 2 count. With Leva in the corner, Athena seeks the end and hits a cartwheel, backflip manouever, then attempts it again, however this time Bates was ready. Bates throws Athena back into the corner and hits double knees for a 2 count, with Athena managing to grab the bottom rope. Bates whips Athena into the ropes, however Athena hits a springboard off the middle rope then follows it up with a big kick and a swinging slam into a facebuster for a two count. Athena attempts to go up top, however Bates quickly sees it and hits a DDT which ends up with Athena on the outside. Bates attempts to roll her in and gets inside the ring only to receive a kick to the face from Athena who goes up top and hits The O-Face (diving top rope Stunner) for the win. Awesome Opener

We then cut backstage with Jessicka Havok, Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephie of the Midwest Militia who state that they are ready for tonight and state that people get too caught up in the world of Twitter. Havok then says that tonight, Mercedes Martinez is in for one hell of a fight.
Lexxus vs. Rain
This is part one of two for Lexxus who is performing double duty tonight. Before the bell rings Lexxus attacks Rain from behind and mocks her and attempts an Irish whip but ends up running into a big boot. Rain hits Lexxus with a headbutt and then kicks her in the back. Rain locks in what appears to be a modified abdominal stretch and chops away at Lexxus and attempts a rollup only for a one count and then another rollup this time for a two count. Rain hits Lexxus with a dropkick, before Lexxus rolls to the outside and takes a breather, baiting Rain to come out. The action gets back in the ring with Lexxus applying a camel clutch before hitting an Irish whip and using her boot to choke Rain in the corner. Lexxus hits a snapmare and then a diving clothesline for a two count. Rain hits multiple strikes to Lexxus however ends up receiving a big forearm, with Lexxus going for the pin. Lexxus hits a low dropkick for another two count and then hits Rain with some knees to the face. Rain manages to get to her feet and tries to hit Lexxus’ face into the turnbuckles, however she counters with a kick to the gut and applies a surfboard submission on Rain. Lexxus then took time out to argue with a fan before returning to attack Rain, however Rain hits a headbutt and attempts a suplex which is countered. Both women get to their feet and Lexxus hits a chinbreaker followed up by an elbow strike to the face and a pinfall attempt. Rain grabs Lexxus by the hair and tosses her around the ring. Lexxus gets back up and both women do battle until Lexxus hits an axe kick for a two count. Lexxus then tries a uranage, however Rain counters and hits a codebreaker for a two count. Rain hits a running dropkick on Lexxus and then walks over to Lexxus but ends up meeting the bottom turnbuckle instead. Lexxus is hoisted up by Rain and powerbombed for a two count. Rain picks Lexxus up again, this time in an electric hair position, however Lexxus reverses with a victory roll for the win.
Winner: Lexus.
“Bonesaw” Jessie Brooks and Jenny Rose vs. Rick Cataldo and Isabel Suena
If you have never seen Rick Cataldo in action, then you don’t know what you’re missing as some love him and some hate him. As our very own Jay O’Dwyer, watching WSU for the first time stated last night, he had no words to describe how disturbed he was by Rick Cataldo. The match opens with Cataldo introducing his new protégé with Bones and Roses stating that Suena is a coward for attacking them from behind a few weeks prior. Cataldo and Rose start the match with Rose applying an arm drag. Cataldo and Rose get back to their feet with Cataldo pushing her, resulting in Rose pushing him back and Cataldo ending up rolling out to the outside for a breather. Suena causes a diversion and Cataldo slaps Rose before bringing the action back to the ring as Rose gets control and tags in Jessie Brooks, as Cataldo tags in Suena. Both women work the technical style before Brooks hits a forearm. Suena slams Brooks on the mat and then hits an elbow and tags in Cataldo who chops Brooks down and applies a surfboard before tagging in Suena who attacks Brooks and applies a camel clutch and then a bulldog. Rose rallies the crowd as Brooks hits a suplex for a 2 count. Brooks manages to tag in Rose who flies across the ring and takes out Cataldo as Brooks kicks Suena to the outside. Cataldo then goes after Brooks however ends up receiving a crossbody from Rose for the 3 count.
Winners: Bones and Roses (“Bonesaw” Jessie Brooks and Jenny Rose).
We then get a video package from a few fans on who they believe will be victorious between Jessicka Havok and Mercedes Martinez, with a lot of support for Havok. We then cut to the back with Amy Lee who praises what Havok and Martinez have done in WSU and states that the Spirit Championship will not be vacated. Amy Lee then sees Lexxus and calls her over wondering who Lexxus has chosen for her tag team partner tonight. Lexxus says that she has a partner and Lee will find out who that is later tonight when everyone else does before walking off. Amy Lee then states that whoever wins the tag team match between The Midwest Militia (Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephie) vs. Team WSU (Alicia and Brittany Savage) will be the number one contenders to the WSU Tag Team Championship.
Jennifer Cruz vs. Becky Bayless
For newer fans of the product, Bayless is a staple of WSU and was formerly known as Cookie during her time in TNA Wrestling. The match starts off with the two trash talking one another before Cruz puts her hand in Bayless’ face, which prompts Bayless to slap her. Cruz charges at Becky, however Becky manages to roll out of the way and then tries to avoid Cruz again, however this time Cruz senses it and strikes her from behind. Cruz drives her boot into Bayless’ throat in ther corner and whips her into the corner. Cruz attempts a scoop slam, but Becky reverses and gets a two count, followed by another few quick falls. Both women back to their feet, however Cruz sends Becky back down with a clothesline followed by 2 elbows and a knee drop. Bayless gets Irish whipped, however stops it and hits a neckbreaker. Cruz goes on the attack and hits three clotheslines one after another and covers Becky, but brings up Becky’s arm at the two count. Both women back up with Bayless gaining the upper hand. Cruz counters and sends Bayless into the corner. Bayless attempts a sunset flip, however Cruz sits down on Bayless and uses the ropes to her advantage to pick up the win.
Winner: Jennifer Cruz.
We then cut back to Tina San Antonio who says that there will be plenty of embarrasing moments for Marti Belle tonight. A video then airs looking at the dissension between both members of the Belle Saints before we head backstage to Marti Belle who says that tonight she is going to shut Tina’s mouth and show her who the better of the two are.
Grudge Match – Marti Belle vs. Tina San Antonio
Tina tries to attack Marti before the match even starts but stops as Marti sees it coming. The two then exchange a test of strength before Tina gets a hold of Marti’s arm. Marti gets Tina to the canvas and applies a side headlock. Both women back up with Tina hitting forearm strikes on Marti in the corner. Marti returns the favour hitting forearm strikes of her own before Tina knees her down to the mat. Tina sends Marti back into the corner and charges at her, however Marti moves out of the way and knocks Tina down and attempts to go up top but takes too long and ends up placed in the Tree of Woe. Marti is put under the bottom rope and then clubbed across her chest on the ring apron. Marti works her way back into the ring and slides between Tina’s legs attempting a pinfall, however Tina checks it and applies a surfboard. Tina then swings Marti and drops her on her neck across her knee. Tina attempts to go up top however Marti slams her to the mat. Tina goes to the outside and pulls Marti’s leg and wraps her around the ringpost. The match then continues on the outside before heading back int he ring. Tina attempts an elbow drop but Marti moves out of the way. Marti hits a running clothesline, followed by a forearm and then a forearm smash for a two count. Tina goes for Marti’s legs and applies a figure four leglock but Marti rolls it over, before Tina rolls it back and gains the advantage. Marti crawls and finally reaches the ropes, Tina goes to grab Marti’s legs again, however ends up being rolled up for the 3 count.
Winner: Marti Belle
Following the match Tina attacks Marti Belle. We then see a video showcasing the NCW Femme Fatales event next week noting that Kalamity and LuFisto are coming to WSU before the camera cuts to Alicia and Brittney Savage who say that Kay and Stephie are dirty b****** and that tonight, Team WSU will take care of the Militia.
Number One Contender’s Tag Team Match – Midwest Militia (Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephanie) vs. Team WSU (Brittney Savage and Alicia)
Alicia and Savage charge the ring and put the beatdown on the Militia to start the match. The women get to their feet and Allysin hits Alicia with a curbstomp while Stephanie hits Total Nonstop Sass on Savage. Chairs are set up in the middle of the ring while Alicia chops Allisyn. Both Kay and Stephanie are placed on top of the chairs and Alicia and Savage crash down into them as the action then spills to the outside. Stephanie, with barbed wire on her boot, takes it off and attempts to attack Savage who avoids it and kicks Stephanie in the gut. There was a bit of a rip on WWE from the commentator at this point when Alicia and Kay used a waterbottle and the commentator stated that it could cause a concussion. Savage ends up on the receiving end on the outside courtesy of Stephanie being thrown into the guardrail and choked while Alicia has Kay in a headlock high-fiving fans on the other side of the ring. Savage is then slammed into the announcers table by Stephanie with the fight then escalating to the merchandise stand. Alicia comes out of nowhere and is seen throwing chairs and a door into the ring. The action returns to the ring with Stephanie being A-Bombed through the table courtesy of Alicia, with Kay getting in the ring to break the count at 2. Savage attempts a crossbody but Kay sees it and attempts a slam which is countered into a DDT by Savage. This is just AWESOME right now. Alicia brings in another door set up by the guardrail. Kay is put against the door however a butt bump from Alicia doesnt cause it to break so Savage whips Alicia into Kay which causes it to break this time around. Savage works on Stephanie on the outside again as Kay and Alicia continue the action inside the ring. Savage slams Stephanie into the guardrail and then locks her in a Boston Crab as we return to the ring and see the barbed wire being used on the head of Alicia. Kay attempts a curbstomp on Alicia (I say that in the best manner possible) and slams Alicia’s face on a chair, only for a two count. Both women return to their feet with Alicia hitting a Yakuza kick and two further kicks to the head of Kay only for a two count. Allysin Kay returns to the ring and hits Alicia with a belly-to-belly suplex. The action just ends up crazy at this point as Stephanie locks a beautiful bridge submission as Allysin Kay handcuffs Savage. Alicia gets in the ring and gets 3D’s through a door as Sassy Stephanie hits a Kiss My Sass on Brittney for the 3 count. Just plain out awesome match here, best match so far.
Winners: The Midwest Militia (Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephanie).
WSU Tag Team Championship Match – Lexxus and ??? (c) vs. The Soul Sisters (Jana and Latasha)
The match starts with Lexxus discussing that she could go it alone and then request that ring announcer Destiny gets on the ring apron, stands there and looks pretty as she’s the tag partner for tonight. Lexxus and Latasha start off the match and work over each other before Jana is tagged in and worked on in the corner. A carthweel splash from Jana ends in a 2 count. Lexxus gets up and Latasha is in the ring now. Lexxus hits a backbreaker followed by an Edge-O-Matic. Latasha reaches out and gets the tag and Jana is in. Jana clotheslines Lexxus and attempts a suplex however Lexxus counters and hits a diving reverse DDT. All 3 ladies are in the ring and the ref is taken out accidentally. At this point Destiny is still on the ring apron watching on. Lexxus hits another diving reverse DDT on Latasha and all ladies are out. Tina San Antonio runs out and tags Lexxus and covers Latasha who kicks out. Lexxus and San Antonio argue in the ring as Jana cracks their heads together and hits an electric chair on Lexxus who reaches out to tag Tina, however Marti Belle comes out and drags Tina off the apron as Latasha comes in and hits an enziguri for a three count.
Winners: NEW WSU Tag Team Champions The Soul Sisters (Jana and Latasha).
Following the match The Soul Sisters get on the mic and thank the fans for their support, however The Midwest Milita of Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephanie come out and says that they won the title on a fluke and that she’s wasting no time as they’re the number one contenders and they want their shot now. Jana says that she’s never backed down from a fight and tonight wont be the start of that.
WSU Tag Team Championship Match – The Soul Sisters (Jana and Latasha) (c) vs. The Midwest Milita (Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephanie)
Latasha and Allysin Kay start the match and Latasha is taken to the corner and escapes. Kay then grabs Latasha by the throat however Latasha escapes and makes the tag to Jana. A blind tag by Stephanie is made after Jana whips Kay into the ropes and Stephanie knocks Jana down and tosses her by the hair. Stephanie hits Jana with a few chops and clubs to the back and then kicks Jana in the gut. Kay is in and hits knee strike after knee strike to Jana in the corner while Stephanie blatantly chokes Jana in the corner. Stephanie is in and continues the attack however Jana counters and only gets a two count. Stephanie attempts a Kiss My Sass however Jana countered it. Stephanie then attempts a forearm shot however Jana counters it into a lovely neckbreaker. Kay and Latasha are now both in the ring. Latasha runs at Kay and attacks her but Kay stands firm. Latasha stomps Kay and hits a sit-out neckbreaker followed by a Thesz Press. Stephanie and Jana fight to the outside as Kay locks an armbreaker on Latasha who ends up tapping. New tag champs again!
Winners: New WSU Tag Team Champions The Midwest Militia (Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephanie).
J-Cup Qualifying Match – April Hunter vs. Annie Social
The two women who are good friends show a sign of respect before locking up. Hunter reverses it and gets a two count from a pin attempt. There is then focus on the boobs of Social and Hunter as Hunter grabs Social by her boobs and tosses her which was both HOT and AWESOME. Social Irish whips Hunter into the corner and works on her and then transitions into a triangle choke, however she doesn’t fully lock it in. Hunter reverses and gets Social in a Regal stretch wrenching it back for the victory.
Winner: April Hunter
WSU World Championship & WSU Spirit Championship Winner Takes All Match – Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Jessicka Havok (c)
The introductions are made and the bell sounds as both women attack each other with Martinez getting the early advantage. Martinez hits a dropkick and a clothesline which sends Havok to the outside. Martinez climbs up to the top rope and connects with a dive to the outside on Havok. Both women fight around the ring area and Martinez sends Havok crashing into the guardrail continuing the assault. The action returns to the ring and Havok kicks Martinez before slamming Martinez to the mat and steps on Martinez’s throat before hitting several kicks. Havok mouths something and then slams Martinez back to the mat and steps on her throat again however Martinez sees it coming and drags her down applying a submission and then switches to try a crossface. Martinez kicks Havok again and again and drives her shoulder into the midsection of Havok before hitting a running kick to the face and then says something to Havok before choking Jessicka with her own bandana around the neck before hitting chops on Havok. Martinez hits the three amigos and as the action returns to its feet Havok gains the upper hand with a head kick which results in the action returning to the outside. The action is now over at the announcer area and the table is taking for use. Martinez is laid against the guardrail as Havok drives her knee into Martinez’s face. Havok then rolls Martinez into the ring and throws her into the corner, however Martinez stops herself midway and slaps Havok, but that’s reversed and Havok hoists up Mercedes and hits a running powerbomb through the table, THIS IS JUST FANTASTIC SO FAR! Havok then hits a boston crap in the middle of the ring and works on the arms. Havok then drops Mercedes and goes and gets a piece of door that was broken earlier. Havok sets up the door, but ends up going through it courtesy of a spinebuster from Martinez who picks up a piece of the broken door and uses it like a baseball bat and then hits a suplex. Mercedes leaves the ring and picks up another table and kicks Havok in the ribs about 4 times in a row. The table is now being set up between the ring apron and the guardrail with help from the referee. Mercedes then chops Havok nearly 10 times and and attempts a Fisherman’s Buster but is stopped the first time with the two of them crashing through one the second time around. Mercedes is the first to get to her feet and delivers several shots to the ribs and body of Havok before flipping her over the guardrail. The action now is in amongst the fans as Mercedes grabs a chair and hits Havok in the back and then tosses her into the wall by the merch stand. The ladies continue to fight at the back of the arena as Havok manages to gain an advantage throwing Mercedes into the wall. Havok then mouths that she wants the f****ng chair and hits Mercedes in the back and sides. Havok then slams Martinez into the wall and rolls Martinez into the ring as she looks for yet another table. Havok slides the table into the ring and slams a piece of the broken door into the back of Martinez and hits an Air Raid Crash but Martinez kicks out at 2. Havok gets the table set up in the ring, however its as sturdy as the leaning tower of Pisa. Martinez manages to catch her breath and hits a Fisherman’s Buster on Havok for a two count. The ladies then head to the corner and are just above the unsturdy table and they fight it out before eventually crashing through the table, where it appeared that Mercedes got the advantage but ended up taking the brunt of the fall as Jessicka Havok pins her for a three count and breaks the 3 year undefeated streak. Trust me when I say that you won’t find a better womens match than this all year, just brilliant and great match to cap off the night.
Winner: WSU Spirit Champion and NEW WSU World Champion Jessicka Havok
Following the match Allysin Kay and Sassy Stephanie came out to celebrate holding all the titles in their hands to close out the show. The YEAR OF HAVOK has now begun in WSU.
Quick Thoughts
This was an excellent card from top to bottom, I’d advise you to order the replay for the Opener, Number One Contender’s Match, The Boob Grab and the main event. These women care about their craft and showed it. The Martinez and Havok match was up there amongst one of my favourite womens wrestling matches of all time, which is saying something and they put on one hell of a show. This wouldn’t have left a new fan or a WSU fan upset at paying out $14.99 last night as it was that good with the main event just brilliant that words can’t describe it, it was a match, a fight and a war is all I can say. Great job to the folks of Women Superstars Uncensored including the staff and the roster for a great show.
