In an interview with The Labradorian, WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan discussed the Royal Rumble match, winning the Royal Rumble match, his time in WCW including turning heel and more.

Highlights of the interview are below:

On the Royal Rumble and winning the match: “It was a pretty unique idea. Of course, Vince McMahon is a groundbreaking guy, he comes up with a lot of ideas, some work and some don’t like the XFL. It’s something I can still hang my hat on. I was never World Champion, I was never Tag Team Champion, I was never Intercontinental Champion, but people remember that Roayl Rumble winner thing.”

On his time in WCW and turning heel: “What they were trying to do was make me quit, they brought me back up and said we’re going to turn you against America. I’m thinking of countries like Iraq and Iran, where are they going to go with this? They said, well, we’re putting you with Team Canada and I said, well, there’s not a lot of heat there really.”
