TITLE UNIFICATION RESPONSE

CHARLOTTE, NC— It has come to our attention that an independent promotion in Florida is advertising a pending match as some type of “unification” match involving the NWA and AWA titles. As all wrestling fans know, the NWA World Heavyweight championship is held by Scrap Iron Adam Pearce.

It is our understanding that the rights to the AWA championship have long been held by the WWE. Although we certainly do not purport to speak for the WWE, we at the NWA simply want to advise the wrestling fans in Florida that any promotion that is billing any match as being in any regard for the NWA title is simply engaging in a cheap stunt and attempting to deceive the great fans of pro wrestling.

The wrestling fans of Florida are invited to watch the real NWA world title being defended by Adam Pearce at the March 29th NWA Ring Warriors show at the Ft. Lauderdale National Guard Armory.
