The IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which was originally scheduled to house the 2015 could potentially be closing by March according to an article on NorthJersey.com.

The report notes that a vote by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority board tomorrow could result in the venue being shut down and the nearby Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey taking over some of the events that are currently slated for the IZOD Center in February and March, with the IZOD shutting down operations in March.

The report also states that the 20,049 seater arena is being shut down due to ongoing losses from the loss of several sports franchises in recent years including the New Jersey Devils and the Brooklyn Nets, as well as increased competition from The Prudential Center, The Barclays Center and a renovated Madison Square Garden.

In response to the matter, WWE issued the following statement, “WWE is currently looking at alternatives and we are confident that we will come up with an equivalent, if not better, option for Summerslam.”
