WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler and his fiancée Lauryn McBride appeared in court yesterday in Memphis, Tennessee to be arraigned on charges of domestic assault and were instructed to stay away from and not have contact with each other in any way, shape or form, with the next hearing in the case set for July 1st.

Lawler noted during an interview with WMC-TV last week that McBride had been intoxicated and began arguing with him and attempted to leave Lawler’s home, which led to him preventing her so that she wouldn’t drive drunk and that a call was placed by McBride to 911, however she hung up before speaking to them, which led to Memphis police arriving to investigate. McBride claimed to authorities that Lawler had shoved her face against a stove and told her to kill herself when she brought a gun into the kitchen. Lawler claimed that he had been scratched by McBride and that she retrieved the unloaded gun from the garage and that he did not strike her.

When police were unable to determine who was the aggressor, they made the decision to arrest both Lawler and McBride. Lawler has been suspended indefinitely by the WWE until the case is resolved.
