Scott Keith of Sporting News and Fighting Spirit Magazine recently noted on his personal blog that the potential reason for WWE United States Champion John Cena taking an extended break from the company this Fall is due to the fact that Cena will be shooting a new reality series for FOX, with Keith stating that he has a friend in the industry and that Cena is scheduled to host the show for the network.

Keith posted the following about the report which would explain Cena’s absence, “A friend in the fitness industry is working on a fitness-themed reality show for FOX. The show is set to air in the spring. He and a few others were told this week that the filming window is set for October 26th to the first or second week of January, and that it will take 6-8 weeks to do everything. They also found out that the host of the show is going to be John Cena. I’m guessing this explains his rumored hiatus after Hell in a Cell.”

Cena is reportedly scheduled to be taking time off following the pay-per-view and returning in December for a live event at Madison Square Garden.
