Ring of Honor Wrestling sent out the following:

THE RAINMAKER IS SIGNED FOR DBD IN LAS VEGAS

Death Before Dishonor XIV Friday, Aug. 19th and Sat. Aug. 20th Sam’s Town Live Las Vegas

The stars of Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will share the stage in the Fight Capital of the World when The Best Wrestling on the Planet returns to Las Vegas Aug. 19th and 20th for Death Before Dishonor XIV. NJPW will be represented by their top competitors at both Friday’s pay-per-view and Saturday’s national TV taping.

The next NJPW star confirmed for that weekend’s huge events is IWGP Heavyweight Champion “Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada. The charismatic Okada is regarded as one of the elite wrestlers in the sport, and he is just now entering his prime. Okada became a four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion on June 19th when he defeated Tetsuya Naito. He also has won the G1 Climax tournament twice and the New Japan Cup once. His matches with longtime rival Hiroshi Tanahashi are classics. Okada and Tanahashi headlined NJPW’s annual Wrestle Kingdom show at the Tokyo Dome against each other three times, with Tanahashi winning in 2013 and 2015 before Okada finally beat Tanahashi in 2016. Okada won the IWGP Heavyweight Title from Tanahashi on two occasions, and he defeated AJ Styles to begin his third reign as champion. He has scored victories in ROH rings over the likes of Roderick Strong, Moose and Matt Sydal. Okada also teamed with Moose to score an impressive win over Tanahashi and Michael Elgin at the 2016 Global Wars pay-per-view.
