In an update on ROH World Champion Kyle O’Reilly’s current standing with the company, his current deal with Ring of Honor Wrestling will expire on December 31st, despite him being scheduled to defend the ROH World Championship on January 4th at the New Japan Pro Wrestling “Wrestle Kingdom 11” pay-per-view at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan against Adam Cole.

O’Reilly has still as of writing not signed a new deal with the company, despite their being only 4 days left on his current deal and there has been no indication as to whether a deal is close to being reached by both sides at the moment.

O’Reilly has been announced for the ROH TV tapings on January 14th in Georgia, where it was announced that he would team with Jay Lethal against the team of Adam Cole & Cody Rhodes. The internal feeling is that ROH management are operating under the assumption that O’Reilly will sign a new deal as O’Reilly had not been previously advertised for any further ROH dates, which led to a lot of speculation regarding his future plans.
