In an update on Mauro Ranallo’s standing with the WWE, Ranallo confirmed in a story posted by Tufayel Ahmed of Newsweek that he has agreed to mutually part ways with the company but will still remain under contract through August 12th simply stating, “WWE and I have mutually agreed to part ways. It has nothing to do with JBL”.

Ranallo was reported to have had issues with WWE SmackDown Live commentator John “Bradshaw” Layfield which escalated after Ranallo tweeted out the results of him winning The Wrestling Observer Announcer of the Year award for 2016, with JBL being visibly frustrated with Ranallo, so much so that he went on a public rant on the WWE Network series Bring it to the Table last month.

The report from Newsweek also includes a statement from WWE stating that they fully investigated any allegations of inappropriate behavior, including the JBL situation. The statement reads, “As part of our commitment to creating an inclusive environment, in April 2011, WWE launched our anti-bullying campaign, Be a STAR, which encourages young people to treat each other with tolerance and respect. As a publicly traded company, that mantra carries forward in our corporate culture. As such, we fully investigate any allegations of inappropriate behavior including the recent alleged situation with John Layfield (aka JBL), despite no formal complaint having been submitted.”
