New Japan Pro Wrestling superstar Tomoaki Honma is currently at the center of a big domestic abuse story in Japan after his girlfriend of 18 years, Kiyoko Ichiki, who once wrestled alongside him in Big Japan Pro Wrestling, accused him of kicking her in the face in speaking with Yahoo Japan.

The report claims that the domestic abuse issues began last month when Honma and Ichiki encountered a woman who claimed to have dated Honma four years ago and after getting into an argument when they returned home, Ichiki felt that she was at fault, got on her knees and bowed to Honma for forgiveness, a Japanese tradition to express shame, however while she was on her knees, stated that Honma proceeded to kick her in the face and noted that the domestic abuse issues with Honma began four years ago. Ichiki stated that she does not know if she will leave Honma as a result and is only considering it because of the verbal and not physical abuse.

In speaking to JPrime.jp, Honma stated that not only are the allegations untrue, but that Ichiki is the one who has abused him in the past and that he is seeking legal action against her because her claims are damaging his career as a result.

New Japan Pro Wrestling have not yet responded to the allegations.
