WWE superstar Randy Orton’s injury is said to be much worse than originally reported, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter who note that Orton’s shoulder injury is serious and will likely keep him off the WrestleMania 32 card, however Orton also needs to undergo neck surgery after his shoulder recovers.

The report notes that the expectation is that the neck surgery won’t be as serious since it’s being done to clean out bone chips in his neck and that it is unlikely, but still possible that the neck damage is worse than they think it is.

The worst case scenario would be for Orton to undergo neck fusion surgery. If that happens, his return to action is believed to be between 3-6 months after the neck surgery, however if doctors find out that his neck is worse than what they think it is and he has to get the neck fusion surgery, then Orton could be out of action for more than a year.
