A report from Comic Book Resources notes that current WWE Champion, CM Punk, an avid fan of comic books himself, may be collaborating with Jill Thompson, who has designed gear for current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan and worked as an artist on the Mick Foley childrens books, on a project for Marvel Comics in the new year.

The report notes that after comments exchanged between the two, a collaboration between the duo is in the works and Thompson has noted on her account thar Marvel should use CM Punk to write a comic that draws in an audience and told Punk, who has been using The Thing’s “It’s Clobbering Time” for his entire career when making his entrance, was a pro wrestler.

Punk noted that he would be in on the project and requested that Thompson would speak with him following the new year to make it happen. It wouldn’t be the first time wrestling has crossed over into comics, as Antonio Rocca made an appearance in a Superman comic years ago, with Raven writing a Spiderman story for Marvel, with Jerry “The King” Lawler, a great artist outside of his work for WWE, doing artwork for an online Superman project that was never picked up by anyone.
