Rocky Romero, who has been working for New Japan Pro Wrestling since 2002 as a regular in the Junior Heavyweight Division and had been in talks with the WWE about coming in to work under a talent and coach type deal in NXT is reported to have signed a new deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling and has decided to remain with the company until 2018, effectively signing a two-year deal with the promotion.

Following the reports on Monday that AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows and Shinsuke Nakamura all gave notice to New Japan Pro Wrestling and could be heading to the WWE, there had been some speculation that Rocky Romero, Bad Luck Fale and Tama Tonga could follow suit, however Romero will not be moving anytime soon based on his new deal. Romero had been expected to appear at the WWE Performance Center next week in Orlando, Florida to discuss terms of a potential deal.

It will be interesting to see if New Japan Pro Wrestling offer better deals to any of the names mentioned above, as there were big plans in place for the team of Tonga and Fale prior to the news that they could be looking at an offer from WWE.
