JOSHI HIGH FLYER RAY TO MAKE SHIMMER DEBUT!
We’re just 29 days away from the next live SHIMMER events in the Chicago area! There’s nothing quite like experiencing a SHIMMER weekend live. Witness the taping of four full length SHIMMER DVDs, meet the wrestlers, and join in celebrating women’s professional wrestling with your fellow fans for an entire weekend! SHIMMER – WOMEN ATHLETES returns to the Berwyn Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL on Saturday & Sunday, March 17th & 18th, 2012. Volumes 45-48 of the SHIMMER series will be filmed during the course of that weekend. Bell time on Saturday, March 17th is 2pm. Bell time on Sunday, March 18th is 1pm. The events are suitable for all ages. Front row seating is already SOLD OUT for the entire weekend. General admission tickets for the shows are available, and can be purchased using the PayPal buttons on the main page of http://www.shimmerwrestling.com/ right now. You may also E-mail shimmernews@yahoo.com for mail order information if you wish to purchase tickets with a money order. General admission is available at a cost of $30 per full day of taping (two full length DVDs worth of live matches per day). We will also have tickets available during intermission of the AAW “Path of Redemption” event next weekend at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, IL.
Several wrestlers were added to the list of officially announced competitors during the past week, including SHIMMER regulars such as Mercedes Martinez, Jessie McKay, Allison Danger, Leva Bates, and Kellie Skater. Additionally, a new member of the roster will make her debut on March 17th & 18th in Berwyn. The high flying masked sensation known as Ray will into the SHIMMER ring for Volumes 45-48! The Joshi 4 Hope office secured one of the most athletic women on the joshi scene in Ray to join their group for the March SHIMMER weekend. Ray previously appeared on S-Ovation events promoted under the IBUKI banner, and is currently a featured attraction on Ice Ribbon, JWP, and REINA events in Japan. With a fast paced, exciting style in the ring, Ray is very unique addition to what has become a very global SHIMMER roster of talent. SHIMMER TAG TEAM TITLES GO INTERNATIONAL!
During 2011, the SHIMMER Championship was on the line outside of the United States for the first time when Madison Eagles defended it against Jessie McKay and Nicole Matthews at PWWA in Australia. Next week will mark the first time that the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship will be on the line in a bout outside of the United States. In this case, the match will take place in Japan. SHIMMER Tag Team Champions Ayako Hamada & Ayumi Kurihara will put the belts on the line against former champions “Seven Star Sisters” Hiroyo Matsumoto & Misaki Ohata at the “Joshi 4 Hope III” event on February 22nd at Shinkiba 1st RING. Also featured on the card are SHIMMER competitors Kellie Skater, Tomoka Nakagawa, and Yumi Ohka.
