In Ring Segment
Kevin Steen, Jimmy Jacobs and Steve Corino make their way to the ring. Corino gets on the mic and says that it wasn’t a ruse and tells Kevin Kelly to step aside as he’s going to be the one interviewing Kevin Steen instead. Corino then asks how does it feel knowing someone in the company who hates him has to call Kevin Steen the champion. Steen says that 6 months ago he promised that he would take the title from Davey Richards and he kept that promise and says that he’ll represent the company at health and fitness events, go to sponsor meetings, including the Sinclair Broadcasting affiliate dinner which he’s looking forward to as he starts smiling.
Jim Cornette comes out and says that by the time the affiliate meeting comes about Kevin Steen won’t be the champion and fires Steve Corino, who tells him that his contract is iron clad. Cornette says that Steen is a cancer, bad for public relations and that he’s now a target as he’s the champion. Cornette goes to announce something, however Davey Richards and Kyle O’Reilly come out to the ring.
Davey says that he fight only for himself and that his old self is back and that he aint making excuses as Steen was the better man at ROH Border Wars and requests a match at ROH Best in the World next month saying that he’ll kick Cornette’s a** if he doesn’t make it happen, in order TO make it happen. After a bit of back and forth Cornette agrees to the match, however notes that like Steen at ROH Border Wars, that Davey’s match at ROH Best in the World will be his last opportunity as long as Steen is the champion.
