WWE Mae Young Classic participants Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane made appearances at last night’s WWE NXT live event at the St. Petersburg Armory in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sane teamed up with Dakota Kai and Aliyah to defeat the team of Baszler, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.

WWE Mae Young Classic Tournament competitor Kairi Sane suffered a concussion during the tapings earlier this month, according to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet. The report notes that Sane is also said to be dealing with neck pain, but will be back in action early next month.

In a series of posts on her official Twitter account, former TNA Knockout Taylor Wilde noted that she almost took part in the WWE Mae Young Classic tournament, but an injury ruled her out. The finals of the WWE Mae Young Classic Tournament, which will take place live immediately after SmackDown Live goes off the air on Tuesday, September 12th will see Shayna Baszler face off against Kairi Sane. Baszler defeated Mercedes Martinez in their Semi Final match, while Sane defeated Toni Storm in their Semi Final Match.
