Former Texas Tech offensive linesman Brandon Carter, who signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints shortly after the 2010 NFL Draft before ending up being released and spending that season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before being released last season, is now trying his hand at professional wrestling after signing a developmental deal with the WWE, this according to a report from The College Sports Blog of DallasNews.com, as well as Carter’s official Twitter account.

Carter is a professional wrestling fan and during his time at Texas Tech, he wore face paint, which he has stated was inspired by pro wrestling. There have been developmental signings in recent weeks. Dean Muhtadi, a former Green Bay Packer and Arizona Cardinal joins Carter in former NFL stars to make the jump to WWE.

Other names signed to developmental deals, with Twitter names included are Brandon Traven (@TravenWWE), Eric Anthony (@eaALLday21), “The Russian Bruiser” Anya (@russianbruiser), Chase Donovan (@ChaseDonovanWWE), Oliver Grey (@FCWOliverGrey) and Tom Pestock (@TummyTom68).
