WWE superstar Titus O’Neil’s suspension from the WWE has been reduced from a 90-day suspension down to a 60-day suspension.

For those unfamiliar with the story, O’Neil was originally suspended for 90 days by the WWE for unprofessional conduct stemming from him grabbing WWE owner Vince McMahon in what appeared to be a playful manner on Monday night as the WWE roster were on stage for the Daniel Bryan retirement speech. Vince McMahon was seemingly unaware of O’Neil’s playful mannerism and was shown shoving O’Neil away in the final moments of the show. When O’Neil arrived at Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Portland, Oregon, he was informed that he was being sent home for his actions for 90 days, which as mentioned above has now been reduced to a 60-day suspension, meaning that he will now be permitted to return to in-ring action at some point in mid-April and will miss WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas.

Meanwhile, WWE issued a response to The New York Post’s coverage of the suspension stating that racism played no part in the company suspending O’Neil, issuing a statement noting that “the suspension of Titus O’Neil had nothing to do with race and everything to do with unprofessional conduct.” WWE also noted that O’Neil sent a message to the company that read, “I feel like s*** now, so if you have to let me go, I understand. Stupid mistake.” The New York Post’s coverage is available in full at this link.
