In an update on tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view, we can confirm the following:
– The Rock will be appearing at tonight’s event, however his role as of writing is currently unknown. The feeling is that if The Rock is not in the Royal Rumble match or there to hype a match at WrestleMania 31 that his appearance will probably be a segment.
– There have been no talks between WWE and Rob van Dam for several weeks in regards to him returning tonight to begin his next run until WrestleMania 31, however RVD has been teasing fans about Philadelphia.
– Bo Dallas is expected to make his return this week, which could put a potential return happening tonight.
– Zack Ryder is in Philadelphia, however it is unknown as to whether he will be appearing or not.
– Former WCW World Champion Diamond Dallas Page flew overnight from Utah and is expected to be a surprise tonight.
– The big expectation is that there will be a former ECW superstar appearing at tonight’s Rumble. As of last word, it is expected that former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray will be the one returning tonight, however that is not 100% confirmed.
– Former WWE superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman is in the area and made a surprise appearance at Jim Ross’ one-man show last night.
– Randy Orton is expected to make his return to the ring this week. Orton underwent surgery late last year for a deviated septum that required him being pulled from WWE television.
– There is a feeling that if Sting does not make an appearance at tonight’s Royal Rumble event, that he will be appearing on WWE RAW tomorrow night to begin the hype for his match against Triple H at WrestleMania 31.
