During an appearance at the Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest today, former WWE & ECW Champion Rob van Dam was asked about his current WWE status.

RVD said that he is in between WWE contracts and that if he went to TNA Wrestling or Ring of Honor, then he would breach the deal and said that he has a valid merchandise deal with the WWE and intends to return, but doesn’t feel like he is in a big hurry to go back and said that himself and Chris Jericho are the only ones who have that sort of deal, stating that Jericho has the deal for his band because he is close with Triple H, which he is not.

RVD said that when he returned in 2013, the WWE did an amazing job building his return and that he had a 90-day deal and did 66 matches in that time, so you really have to think about the travel involved. RVD said that in a regular WWE deal, it would mean that he would have to keep on going and said that he came back and did a 5-month deal where he picked the dates that he wanted to do and could go back any time.
