In an update on the future of TNA World Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy, the duo will not be signing new deals with IMPACT Wrestling, due to them feeling disrespected during contract talks, according to a report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet.

The report notes that Matt and Jeff agreed to terms on a new deal back in December, but needed a few minor changes and were simply waiting for the finalized offer from the company. It should be noted that a verbal agreement was agreed to back in December and not a written agreement. After waiting and waiting, eventually Matt and Jeff’s lawyer told IMPACT Wrestling officials that they wanted a creative control clause in their new deals, which was immediately shot down and that when their lawyer told TNA Wrestling President Ed Nordholm that there was interest from other companies, Nordholm responded by telling their lawyer to let them go to WWE then which made Jeff Hardy end any hopes that the company had of keeping him locked to a contract, as he stated that he was no longer interested in re-signing.

Meanwhile, despite all of this going on with Jeff Hardy and IMPACT, Matt Hardy continued talks with the promotion, however when IMPACT Wrestling sent out a new contract last week, the report states that the offer was now a two-year deal which included terms snuck in that stated that IMPACT Wrestling would receive 10% of all his profits outside of the company, with Matt’s lawyer informing him that he would be a fool to sign and that Matt informed IMPACT Wrestling that he was not interested in their offer, but would still come to the tapings to write off his characters and drop the belts,

The report concludes noting that Matt Hardy was told that he was crazy to think that IMPACT Wrestling would want him on television without a contract and that IMPACT Wrestling officials are currently attempting to get their TNA World Tag Team Championships back.
