In an update on John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar’s brawl airing at the top of the third hour and Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns followed by Mark Henry/Rusev segment ending WWE RAW, a report from PWInsider.com notes that the decision was made due to the football.

The report notes that the segment between Lesnar and Cena was placed where it was specifically in an attempt to get fans to watch during the half-time of the NFL broadcast and that the opening segment with Cena and Heyman was done as a way for viewers to tune in and come back to see Brock and Cena later in the evening.

The report continues to note that the show was designed to “peak” with the angle and then move onto the remaining matches with Mark Henry and Rusev closing the show as a way to drive attention to other bouts at the WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view.
