WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is helping to bring awareness and raise money for Lymphoma Canada after being asked by organizers to host Take it to the Mat and noted that her reason for helping is due to the fact that her Mother was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma in 2006.

Trish’s message reads, “When I got asked by organizers to host Take it to the Mat, I was excited about the opportunity to be a part of an event that is raising money and awareness for Lymphoma Canada which is the only national organization solely dedicated to Canadians affected by lymphoma: Hodgkin and non-hodgkin & CLL. I’m not sure how many of you know that one of the reasons I retired from wrestling in 2006 was because my mom was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma and I knew if I was still on the road I wouldn’t be able to be by her side during the chemotherapy and post-recovery. It certainly made my decision to step away from WWE easier knowing I could be there for my mom, So, now to be asked to be a part of this event really means a lot to me. And, I would love it you could support this cause as well on behalf of me and Stratusphere – and MOM! By the way, she fought it and is in remission right now! My mom is more fierce of a fighter than my seven-time championship winning butt any day of the week – she’s the real champ!”
