Opening Segment
The host of WrestleMania 30, Hulk Hogan opens up the pay-per-view! He was in the main event of the first ever WrestleMania, and 30 years later he’s the host. Hogan mistakenly says he is happy to be in the Silver Dome, but they are actually in the Super Dome. The crowd got on Hogan for that, but he is able to joke it off and say that he was thinking about when he body slammed Andre at WrestleMania 3. Broken glass is heard, and the Texas rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin is making his way to the ring. Hogan and Austin in the same ring brother, face to face! Austin asks the crowd if they want him to open up a can of whoop a** on Hulk Hogan, and they give him a hell yeah! Austin says he respects Hogan for all he’s done for the business, and he won’t do that. Tonight’s not about Hogan or Austin, but it’s about the young talent in the locker room. “If you smell, what The Rock is cooking!” The Rock is at the SuperDome, and all 3 Icons are in the same ring. Thank you WWE! The Rock says that he is standing across from the 2 biggest names in wrestling history. He and Austin rib Hogan for his little Silver Dome slip up earlier, but Hogan is a good sport about it. The Rock says that Cena wouldn’t be wrestling tonight if it weren’t for Hulk Hogan 29 years ago. He also says that Daniel Bryan wouldn’t be rising against The Authority if it weren’t for the “bald headed SOB” Steve Austin. The segment ends with all 3 Icons saying there famous catch phrases, and Austin passes out beers for them to cheer to. What a moment for wrestling fans all over the world…Great job by Vince McMahon and the WWE.
