Historic 60-Minute No Disqualification Ironman Match Headlines Big Weekend

DES MOINES, Iowa – The all-star’s of Midwest pro wrestling will be in action once again as 3XWrestling (3XW) holds two huge events the final weekend of March. 3XW presents The Final Countdown 2 at the Baratta’s@Forte Center in Des Moines on Friday, March 30. 3XW will then continue its live event tour at the National Guard Armory in Ottumwa, Iowa on Saturday, March 31. Both events will be filmed for future airing on 3XW’s new weekly television program on Iowa CW Network affiliates. 3XW’s half-hour TV show airs Saturday at 6 p.m. on KWKB (eastern Iowa) and 1:30 a.m. Monday on KCWI (central Iowa).

The main event of the Des Moines event features the most-anticipated rematch in 3XW history – 3XW Heavyweight champion “The Ironman” Mark Sterling will defend the title against top rival “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt in a 60-minute No Disqualification Ironman match. These two previously battled in an Ironman match that lasted an astounding 75 minutes at 3XW’s Divide & Conquer in January 2011; that encounter won multiple “Match of the Year” awards and is widely regarded as the greatest match in 3XW history. The Ottumwa event will be headlined by the winner of a battle royal earlier in the evening facing either Sterling or Wyatt for the 3XW Heavyweight championship. This will be the first 3XWrestling event in Ottumwa in over three years.

Doors open for both events at 7 p.m. (6:45 p.m. for advance ticket holders) for a 7:30 p.m. start time. The Barratta’s@Forte Center is located at 615 3rd St. in beautiful downtown Des Moines. The Ottumwa National Guard Armory is located at 2858 N. Court Road in Ottumwa. Advance tickets for both 3XW events are available at http://www.3XWrestling.com. Additional tickets for the Des Moines event are sold at All Play (615 3rd St.), Cup O’ Kryptonite (4521 Fleur Dr. in Des Moines), and Jay’s CD and Hobby (3315 S.E. 14th St.). Advance tickets are $12 adult general admission and $6 for kids 10 and under. Advance ticket holders get into the arena 15 minutes early to pick their seats. Tickets at the door the night of the event are $15 for adult general admission but still only $6 for kids (free for kids 3 and under).

3XW The Final Countdown 2 is sponsored by Baratta’s, Mediacom, Godfather’s Pizza, Henry J’s Taco House, White’s Automotive, Prints Copy Center, B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli and Aspen Athletic Club. 3XW, a Des Moines-based family-friendly wrestling promotion, has grown from humble beginnings in July 2005 to being a leader in the Midwestern professional wrestling scene. 3XW has twice been recognized (2008, 2010) by Missouri Wrestling Revival (http://www.missouriwrestlingrevival.com) as the “Promotion of the Year” for the Midwest. 3XWrestling holds monthly events the final Friday of each month in Des Moines at the Baratta’s@Forte Center, with additional events throughout the state of Iowa each month.
