In an update on WWE’s decision to end The Undertaker’s streak at the WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view, a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that referee Chad Patton was unaware that The Undertaker would be losing to Brock Lesnar and was told that The Undertaker was going over, however the rule is that every referee is told if the guy doesn’t kick out, then you continue the count.

The report notes that the decision to end the streak was finalized on March 31st and the group of people that knew of the outcome were Vince McMahon, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and that none of the agents were aware, even so much so that the actual script didn’t have a finish listed, which led many to think that there could’ve been something of a DQ finish causing The Undertaker to win.

As of writing, it is unknown as to whether The Undertaker is done or not, however Vince McMahon chose the idea that it would be better for The Undertaker to lose on his way out and talked “The Deadman” into it happening, going off The Undertaker’s decision that Lesnar would be the ideal guy to drop it to when discussed in 2010.
