In an interview with WrestleTalk TV in the United Kingdom, former WWE Superstar Alberto del Rio commented on CM Punk’s departure from the WWE stating that Punk went from driving 1000 miles to get $30 and made it to the big stage, but that one day, he wasn’t happy with what was going on.

Del Rio noted that Punk’s exit from the company led to major shakeups on the program stating, “I had a match with Kofi Kingston that night for RAW and it was only to be 8 minutes. Mike Chioda approached me and said, we need for you to do another 14 minutes” and that someone came to him and said that Punk had walked out on the company.

Del Rio said that Punk is a guy that believes what he’s saying, what he’s thinking and because of that, he has all of the respect in the world from him and said that he himself was put in the same situation months later where he had to reinforce what he believed in and stated that he didn’t regret his firing because he fought for his beliefs.
