All Japan Pro Wrestling star Yutaka Yoshie, who took part in Sunday’s AJPW Dream Power Series 2024 Day 2 event, passed away at the age of 50, the promotion have announced.

All Japan Pro Wrestling announced that after returning to the back following the match where he teamed with Ryo Inoue against Ryoji Sai and Hokuto Omori, Yoshie’s condition suddenly deteriorated and he was rushed to a hospital in Takasaki City.

Yoshie began his career in 1994 with New Japan Pro Wrestling and over the years made appearances for other promotions including Pro Wrestling NOAH, Pro Wrestling ZERO1, Dragon Gate, Big Japan Pro Wrestling, Diamond Ring, Kaientai Dojo, Tenryu Project, Wrestle-1, GLEAT, Active Advance Pro Wrestling, Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling Explosion and Dradition Pro Wrestling.

During his career, Yoshie was an IWGP Tag Team Champion with Hiroshi Tanahashi, a ZERO-1 MAX Intercontinental Tag Team Champion with Steve Corino, an AJPW World Tag Team Champion with Akebono, and a two-time NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Champion with Shogun Okamoto.
