WWE confirmed today that legendary actor, comedian, singer, dancer, performance artist and self-proclaimed Inter-Gender Wrestling Champion of the World Andy Kaufman will be inducted into the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame on Friday, March 31st, news that was first reported by Variety.

While Kaufman was known for his television roles and his self-proclaimed Championship role, he is perhaps best known to wrestling fans for bringing his act into a feud with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler in the Continental Wrestling Association in Memphis, Tennessee, a feud which saw the two appear on a 1982 episode of Late Night With David Letterman that later became famous worldwide.

As of writing, it has not been confirmed as to who will induct Kaufman into the WWE Hall of Fame. Previously announced for the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame are Rey Mysterio and The Great Muta.
