Former WWE superstar Ashley Massaro reached out to the company back in October 2018 to make amends for being one of the names involved in the lawsuit from nearly 60 former names against the WWE, according to a statement sent by WWE to The Blast.

The statement notes, “Long after Ashley Massaro filed an affidavit, which WWE only learned of the contents after she passed away, Ashley sent an email to WWE on Oct. 20, 2018, approximately one month after the Court dismissed all claims against WWE and sanctioned the lawyer who brought the suit against WWE, Konstantine Kyros, for repeated misconduct including pursuing false allegations.”

WWE also released an e-mail from Massaro who noted the lawsuit got out of control which read, “I love WWE, you all were my family the whole time I was there. The lawsuit got out of control very fast. I had been roped in by the lawyer representing the others.”

WWE claimed that Ashley expressed that she accepted her part of the responsibility and specifically wanted to share her sincerest regret to Kevin Dunn, Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. More details are available at this link.
