‘Universal Heartthrob’ Austin Idol Confirms Appearance, Next-Announced Featured Guest For Charlotte Fanfest!
“Every woman’s pet, and every man’s regret,” or so he claims, one of the most flamboyant stars of pro wrestling’s glory days, Austin Idol, is our next-announced featured guest for this August’s NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend. The self-proclaimed ‘Universal Heartthrob’ will be signing autographs and available for photos with his very own CWA World championship belt. Austin Idol joins Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson of the Rock-n-Roll Express, former NWA referee Tommy Young, former NWA World Junior champion Denny Brown, former rivals Tully Blanchard and Magnum TA, and former Mid-Atlantic and World Wide TV wrestling hosts Bob Caudle and Rich Landrum as the first nine featured guests for this year’s reunion, which takes place Thursday through Sunday, August 2-5 in Charlotte, North Carolina. All-Time Great ‘Bad Guy’ Is First-Announced Vendor Guest!
One of wrestling’s all-time great villains and one of the meanest, vicious, and ugliest wrestlers ever, Ox Baker, is the first-announced vendor guest for this year’s fanfest weekend in Charlotte. Jeered and hated by wrestling fans all over, the master of the ‘Heart Punch’ was a top draw everywhere he appeared. At 6′ 8″ tall and well over 300 pounds, his size landed him a prominent role in the 1981 cult classic “Escape From New York,” starring Kurt Russell. Baker will be appearing courtesy of Wrestle Stuff Inc.
NWA World Champion Adam Pearce Returns To Charlotte; Will Defend Famous “10 Pounds Of Gold” At 2012 NWA Fanfest!
NWA World Heavyweight champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce has signed a contract to face his number one contender at this year’s fanfest weekend in Charlotte, with the most prestigious “10 Pounds of Gold” at stake. A four-time champion, Pearce has successfully defended his title at our two previous reunions, beating Bryan Danielson in 2010 and TNA’s Gunner (formerly Phill Shatter,) last year in Georgia. In Charlotte this August, Pearce will defend against his number one contender, whoever that may be at the time, as determined by the National Wrestling Alliance’s Board of Directors. He will also be on hand to sign autographs and take photos with fans during the course of this year’s NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend, which takes place Thursday through Sunday, August 2-5, 2012.

The Hilton University Place is the host hotel for this summer’s NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend. The hotel is offering a special $95 group rate for those that book early.
