There were several changes made behind the scenes as of late on the WWE 205 Live series on the WWE Network, with Vince McMahon stepping aside and no longer personally putting the show together, with the show now being overseen by Triple H, according to a report from PWInsider.com.

The report notes that Triple H has decided to bring back many of the hallmarks of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, including the style and presentation of the Cruiserweights inside the ring and that while Vince McMahon had been personally working with the 205 Live talents to bring out their personalities, Triple H is instead focusing on their in-ring work and the competitive nature to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

McMahon made the decision to allow Triple H to take over the brand around two weeks ago in an attempt to reboot and fix the brand and that while there is always a chance that Vince McMahon places himself back in control, the past two weeks have been compared in a similar fashion to the early start of WWE NXT, in that Triple H has been the alpha and the omega when it comes to being the decision-maker for the brand.

The report further notes that in recent months, there had been talk behind the scenes about why 205 Live was not firing on all cylinders, with Vince McMahon believing that a character-driven show was the best way to get the show over and that while moving Enzo Amore to the show led to an uptick in viewership and interest in the show, there were others in the company that still argued that presenting 205 Live similar to how the WWE Cruiserweight Classic was presented was the right way to go

The belief among those who pushed for a return to the WWE Cruiserweight Classic presentation was that having smaller talents echoing WWE RAW and WWE SmackDown Live personalities was not going to showcase what made them different and unique and it was not going to help the Cruiserweights and 205 Live grow beyond being just an hour of WWE television on the WWE Network.
