Newly-crowned WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair was a guest on ESPN’s Get Up this morning where she discussed the fallout from WrestleMania 36 and her victory over Rhea Ripley to become the new Champion.

The hosts noted that this was a completely different environment for all of the wrestlers involved with no fans in attendance. Charlotte said that they were right, but she looked at it as an opportunity to show how talented that she was as a performer and that she did not need a live audience to play off of and to show her authenticity, noting that people have to understand that even if there is not a live audience, there are millions of people watching at home and that when you watch a fight scene in a movie, you are not thinking about the audience and that is how she approached the match, noting that it was an opportunity to highlight her ability as an entertainer.

The hosts then asked Charlotte about the measures that the company underwent at WrestleMania in order to keep all of their performers safe. Charlotte said that they had a closed set, tested everyone and had limited talent, as usually, all of the talent and the staff are there and they have a huge production team, but that this time around, they were very limited and that they did the best that they could, noting that it came off phenomenal and she could not be more proud of the company.

The hosts noted that Rob Gronkowski is now the WWE 24/7 Champion and asked her for her thoughts on him being a Champion. Charlotte said that Gronk is the Champion now, but that it is his energy that is so contagious and that he brings something to the table to where she is looking forward to seeing what else he is able to do as part of the WWE.

The hosts then mentioned that Charlotte’s father, Ric Flair, was on the show last Friday and called her the greatest women’s wrestler of all time. Charlotte said that she might have to argue with him, but said that when people look back in 15 years at her legacy in the business, she hopes that they think of her as one of the greatest of all time and not just in women’s wrestling, stating that following her father and who he is, she had to have that chip on her shoulder and said that she took the torch and that he did not pass it on to her.
