With his rise to prominence, more so than ever before during the summer of 2011, following the saga at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view event, it appears that the WWE are going to be cashing in heavily on the popularity surrounding CM Punk with a highly anticapted DVD release in 2012.

The documentary will feature a documentary about Punk growing up as a child, when he became a fan of professional wrestling, his early days as a pro wrestler, as well as matches from his run with the company. As of writing, it is unknown as to whether the WWE will have some agreement with the likes of Ring of Honor, IWA-Mid South, Full Impact Pro and other companies, in regards to using early footage of CM Punk, or if the company will instead use footage of Punk’s debut on the ECW brand.

The Chicago Tribune also picked up on the potential DVD release, noting that the title is yet to be named. You can read that piece at this link.
