With WWE returning to Madison Square Garden this Sunday for the highly anticipated WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event, where The Rock and John Cena will team for the first-time ever to take on the team of Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) and where Alberto del Rio will defend his WWE Championship against the number one contender to the title, CM Punk, many have been wondering what will close the pay-per-view, however the self-proclaimed “Best In The World” noted that Cena and Rock’s tag-team match will main event the pay-per-view, however he will have some sharp words for both, upon making his way to the back with the WWE Championship.

Speaking to the New York Post to help promote WWE Survivor Series, CM Punk noted that The Rock coming back to the WWE is a big deal for the company and everyone wants to produce a great event at Madison Square Garden. Punk noted that the slogan on the back of his t-shirt is not just your typical slogan, as he’s truly the best in the world and that The Rock and John Cena are going to be sitting in Gorilla when he gets done with his match against Alberto del Rio for the WWE Championship and he will walk through with the title in his hand and tell both of them to “follow that”.

Punk noted that he wants to be the WWE’s top star and noted how no one has been able to take John Cena off his perch, despite certain sections of the fanbase moving away from Cena and towards other WWE superstars including himself. Punk noted that it’s really interesting that nobody in the company has been able to knock Cena off as the ace of the company and stated that he’s always been a believer in his own abilities and noted that if given a shot, he could be that guy. Punk talked about John Cena’s appeal being that of a superhero, a big muscle-bound He-Man type of wrestler and that he has to beat John Cena in merchandise sales and he won’t get into that, but if you put his face on a poster, he doesn’t exactly look like your superhero.

Regarding the grueling WWE schedule, where WWE superstars usually work close to nearly 300 days a year, Punk noted that it’s not really a drain, stating that he signed up for it and that’s the kind of person he is, noting that if you sign up for something, then you don’t really have the rights to complain about it and he is one of the people on earth that thinks if you don’t think that life is purely for entertainment, then you’re missing something. Punk noted that he loves the busy and hectic schedule and being in a different city on a nightly basis, saying that he was buily for it and what professional wrestlers do is harder than any sport, particularly with the WWE schedule. Punk then took a hit towards other sports noting that he’s not sitting on a beach in Cancun for 4 months a year and he doesn’t have to report to training camp to get in shape for the season, as wrestling is a year round job.
