WWE SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan was a recent guest on ESPN’s “Off The Top Rope” segment with Jonathan Coachman and discussed how retirement is going, how he has been handling it, if he could make an in-ring return and more.

Daniel Bryan said that it has been extremely tough on him since his retirement and that you can expect to see all the aftermath of that on Total Bellas and said that he does love being around the WWE as he gets to see his friends and gets to see the action going on the ring. Coach asked him what the hardest part of retirement is for him and what he should be focusing on as he has been wrestling for most of his life, to which Bryan admitted that it has been really tough having to just sit there and watch matches without being able to step inside the ring and recalled getting frustrated and threatening to just quit the WWE to work the independent scene again, however Brie done her best to calm him down and they now wish to try and start a family together to hopefully change his focus on that.

Bryan said that he has been trying to convince people that he wants to wrestle again, but noted that the hardest part has been convincing himself to do it. It was noted during the interview that Bryan was cleared by many doctors on his concussion issues, besides one, which raised a flag. Bryan said that the more he learned about the test, the more that should not have stopped him and said that there is a lot more than we realize, but he feels ready to go and feels like he can wrestle yet again.
