WWE Champion CM Punk is featured in an interview with The Chicago Tribune to promote this Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania XXVIII pay-per-view, which include Punk’s comments on Vince’s reaction to his promos, including the pre-Money in the Bank promo on RAW, his feelings towards The Rock, a potential movie role and much more.

Regarding Vince’s reaction to his promos, CM Punk noted that he gave Vince McMahon bullet points in regards to that promo and then turned around and changed it saying something completely different as he knew that Vince wouldn’t approve and that the moment he said it to Vince, he had dollar signs in his eyes and praised Punk telling him that it was a hell of a promo, but it was too bad that he was leaving as they could both make a lot of money together. Punk noted at that point, he was so out the door he was counting down the days, before the huge response. Punk noted that he signed a new WWE contract extension during the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view and declined to comment further noting that he’s 33 and that he doesn’t want to be wrestling well into his 40’s.

In talking about The Rock’s comeback to the WWE, Punk noted that he doesn’t think that he has a relationship with The Rock, however over the past few weeks, it’s been better, probably due to the fact that he has been outspoken about The Rock in the media. Punk noted that he doesn’t hate The Rock or fault him for coming back, however heaping credit on him for helping ratings, buyrates and more is where he becomes offended as it’s a team effort for 365 days a year and that the locker room and himself bust their a**** all years and that The Rock should give credit where it’s due. Punk then went on to note that WrestleMania 27 had a huge buyrate, not because of one guy and the number out there prove that The Rock hasn’t done much else, including the WWE Survivor Series buyrate.

On a potential movie role with the company, Punk noted that the WWE offfered him a movie role when he first told them that he wasn’t re-signing and he immediately turned it down. Punk stated that he believes that the company figured that he would jump at a movie role because he’s not a movie star, however that’s not to say that if the right project comes along he won’t do it, but wrestling is his top priority. Punk then stated that if it’s something good then he’d love to do it, as long as it doesn’t interfere with his wrestling schedule.
