Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque took part in a conference call today in advance of the NXT Takeover: In Your House event this Sunday. HHH ran down the card, mentioning that Todd Pettengill will be on-site and that Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso will be part of the pre-show panel, joking that he won’t open tht spot up to other reporters unless Justin screws it up. HHH then threw it over to the Q&A session.

The first caller asked about the Cameron Grimes & LA Knight vignettes and what the process was to get them done and whether there will be more of that on NXT as opposed to having everything in-ring driven. HHH said that he likes a mix of things because he doesn’t want to get pigeon-hold and said that it was interesting, noting that the influence of Jeremy Borash is spread across the show and said that it is a process with a lot of input from other people also. HHH said that he likes the vignettes himself.

The next caller asked about what HHH sees in the MSK tag team and whether they remind him of any other tag teams over the years. HHH said that MSK bring an energy and an excitement to the division that he really likes and noted that they are new and exciting and in some ways, they are your old school babyface team and said that you could maybe compare them to The Rock N’ Roll Express or The Midnight Rockers, but that he doesn’t like to do that and wants them to be the first MSK. HHH said that he tells the talent to be themselves and said that all the wrestlers take things from other people, but the goal is to make yourself the first you and said that they have knocked everything out of the park and that they bring so much to the company that he wants to support them.

The next caller discussed the segment where wrestled echoes online criticisms of Karrion Kross on Tuesday’s WWE NXT episode. HHH said that it is reality based and that they are bringing up things that people say about him and said that he laughs at some of the things that the internet coins, but that everyone brings strengths to the table and that some of what they say has some truth to it, while the rest is having people say what they would say in character. HHH said that he does not want to tear anyone down, but that it is where you go with it and that it is the same in other sports when people talk trash, in how do they react when the game is on. HHH said that he likes blurring the line and making people wonder if it was a shoot or not and noted that you can go too far, and they know that, but you can’t be thin-skinned in this business.

The next caller asked if any of the NXT women will make an appearance at the NWA’s all-women’s pay-per-view later this year and if not, will NXT do a women-only show. HHH said that the company has already done so and said that if people are equal, there shouldn’t be a women or men only show and said that there are contracts for a reason also when it comes to wanting the best women despite their contractual status. HHH said that if you want the best, then come to NXT. HHH said that they may do a women’s only pay-per-view again down the line, but feels that they present the women very well and that they are some of the best performers across NXT and the main WWE roster.

The next caller asked if upward mobility from the WWE NXT roster to WWE’s main roster has lost its excitement. HHH said that you can look at it like they don’t pan out, or that the company misused them, but noted that there can be a million reasons as to why things don’t work, including sometimes a talent not fitting and that sometimes, a talent may have hit their bar before they got to the main WWE roster. HHH said that the question remains as to what NXT is, just developmental, or is it its own brand and said that early on, it was a knock on NXT as back then people said that they hated getting into talents there because they moved on, but then it changed and now, it is a place where you will have some talents stay in NXT, noting that some don’t fit and some don’t want to leave so there are a lot of options. HHH said that a lot of people get hung up on where will it go instead of just enjoying it in the moment and that fans ruin their own enjoyment at times because they are worried about where it’s going rather than just enjoying the ride. HHH said that he is happy where the brand is, once again nothing that it is a marathon, not a sprint, and that he wants to create a long-term brand and that they need to keep growing.

The next caller asked about Ted DiBiase’s appearances on WWE NXT, how it happened and if DiBiase is working behind the scenes. HHH said that the talent go to Ted and pick his brain and he glad to help them. HHH noted that not everyone is helpful, but that Ted DiBiase is and said that Ted wants to work with them, while himself and the talent love having him around. HHH put over the return of the Million Dollar Championship and how excited people were to see it on the show.

The next caller asked about the next Takeover event. HHH said that it is a work in progress as to whether they will be in Orlando for the next event, noting that they are still feeling things out, have Vegas booked and hope it will be full that weekend. HHH said that the talent can’t wait to get back in front of crowds at arenas and said that once you go through having no fans, you realize just how important it is to get back in front of them, noting that they can’t wait and that it is an ongoing process.

The next caller asked how the Million Dollar Championship will be utilized after Sunday’s event. HHH said that on Sunday, we will find out who the Champion is and from there they will see how things go, noting that only four people have held that title and that the winner will join that group creating a big moment. HHH said that when Cameron Grimes and LA Knight saw that title, he could see both of them break character and kind of pop for being able to witness the title.

The final caller asked if NXT has any plans on returning to Full Sail University. HHH said that for now, the Capitol Wrestling Center is their home, but that they still have a strong relationship with Full Sail and that when students get back in classes on campus, then he can’t wait to get them back to the CWC, noting that he loves the young talent on both sides of the camera and reiterated that the partnership is strong, but that for now, the CWC is their home, but that they are also open to all ideas with Full Sail University.

Triple H thanked everyone for their time and noted that there will be a Global Press Conference with talents at 11am Eastern this Saturday and said that he will talk with everyone again after the show.
